Welcome

My name is Oran Parker. Welcome to my FREE Jimdo website! I'm really excited about the Jimdo platform. It's user friendly, 90% customizable all at no cost to the end user. It provides a wide range of components that you can plug your work or ideas into.
The primary purpose for this site is to create a one-stop portal for all my visitors to access my LinkedIn profile, my Parker Brand blog, my project portfolio & design gallery, my presentations, as well as sample some of my video observations & tv spots. You also have access to some great tools & tidbits I've created over the years to help get the creative process moving.
Take a few minutes to dig around. I'm sure you'll be able to find something you can use on your next creative project.
Philosophy

My philosophy towards life & work is based around creative momentum. Ever since I was a young boy I've had a lot of creative energy. It manifested itself in almost all activities that I took part in, but especially in all things art related.
As I got older I realized that this creative energy was manifesting itself in all parts of my life. It created a type of deep generalism, a unique way of seeing the world and the people and things that inhabit it. I've found that I'm much more concerned with what is at somethings core, and less concerned with it's surface. Everything has an inside, or an underbelly and I aim to see there, to find that part of a thing, it's true face. This view has allowed me to channel this creative energy, or creative principal, into other areas of my life besides art. It serves me in my family life, my social life and is a tremendously useful tool in all of my professional circles and projects.
I believe that we are all expressions of some great, creative force. I cling to the mystery behind this question; if there is nothing there to experience creation, with the senses or the contemplative mind, then is there really anything there at all? Does anyone understand the mysterious sound of one hand clapping?
I rest in the belief that being creative matters. I believe that is why we are here...the be instruments and partners in the creative process.
From the the veins in your hand, the branches of a tree, the cracked desert floor, a bolt of lightning; the creative signature, the artist's mark, is there. I believe it's our job to watch, to see, to understand then put that understanding to good use, to generate creative momentum, to take part in the process.
Share the connection

This site is important to me because sharing creative energy is important to me. Making creative connections move us forward. Those connections give us hope, they keep us connected to the creative principle that exists outside our own individual experience.
When creative individuals share their knowledge and experience, when they share their stories the energy grows. More things can be accomplished, more momentum builds.
Momentum can only build once you actually put things in motion. Sometimes this initial push towards movement can take a tremendous amount of effort and human energy, but remember this; a dead, stand still is a bad place to be; just muck on the pond. The universe is always moving, flowing outward and changing, like clear, fresh water. Change is the law. Impermanence abounds. Insert yourself into this process.
Start right now

I would say that I specialize in creative problem solving. I take pride in my ability face a challenge by analyzing it and finding the most creative and effective course of action available.
My method is all about movement, change, growth,...EVOLUTION! Movement causes friction. Birth and rebirth can be painful. Don't be afraid of these things because they are natural, creative laws, and don't wait until tomorrow to be a part of change.
There comes a time for words to end. I can talk endlessly about doing something, about some project or bringing some idea to life. Talk is okay, but I believe that action is better. Start today. Use your creative ablilities to develop a plan, a strategy and then move, move, MOVE!
Take the first step today. If you don't know what that step is, then do what I do; just do SOMETHING!
